We do if he was prevented from doing so, or 'encouraged not to'...

Lakersfan,

Yep fake news is exactly what it is. The NBA would love for the Lakers to have a super team to challenge Golden State. Imagine the ratings.

I can say without hesitation the highest rated playoff series next season will be the Lakers-GS if they meet.

This is the George story I heard on the radio and it rings true to me:

George was already upset last season when the Lakers did not offer enough to get him in trade like OKC did.

The final blow to his ego and any Lakers deal was when the Lakers put George on the back burner trying to make a trade for Leonard. He expected them to make him the top priority and felt the Leonard pursuit was an insult.

That may have been a mistake considering you had to trade good players for Leonard while George was there for free.

Woj said before FA that PG13 seemed disappointed and upset that Lakers didn't trade for him, when he did interview with him before season started.

Lakers gambled and lost, big market isn't what it used to be, players can make off court money anywhere. OKC is one of the best run organizations in league. Plus the great fan base, most games are like college atmosphere.

LAL did the right thing. The Pacers were asking for a king's ransom just like the Spurs. Too bad PG13 got all into his feelings.

Lol, Hey if OKC makes him happy, more power to him. Think there's better FA's in next year's class anyway.

I call BS, there is a huge difference between Magic Johnson running his mouth on Jimmy Kimmel's show vs. the following:

"As it turns out, Smith and the Timberwolves had an under-the-table agreement in place, where Smith would sign three one-year deals for very little money, allowing the Timberwolves to acquire his Bird rights, which would allow them to go over the salary cap to re-sign him. He would have then been rewarded with a lucrative contract that would have paid him up to $86 million. This arrangement, of course, was highly illegal, and sanctions came down hard on the Timberwolves when the league found out."
