Quote:

This time, LaVar Ball’s forecast revolves around Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.

Asked Tuesday on FS1’s Undisputed if he thinks James will sign with the Lakers this summer, Ball responded in classic Ball fashion.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” he said. “I know it’s going to happen.”

Hey- maybe Lavar knows some inside info that LBJ to the Lakers will be a done deal, or is he just throwing smoke?

Let's get real here. Not emotional, objective. I didn't like LeBron when he was the enemy; nor did I like Shaq. But Babe Ruth became a Yankee and all of America embraced him -- because he WON. If Paul Pierce joined us after his title run, I am sure Lakers fans would have loved him.

This is sports -- and you do WHATEVER IT TAKES to win. Losing is for losers.

LeBron and PG13 -- WELCOME ABOARD!

Well I was saying screw Lavar... but if you want to be objective and you want to win this is a bad idea. Unless the pull off some sort of miracle like adding C. Paul AND Anthony Davis to go with LBJ, then it's not a good idea. We've already covered this 100 times. A. You throw away the future and all but guarantee that we will suck again in a few years. B. James & George isn't getting close to winning us a title. So emotionally or objectively, it's a bad idea.

That's what really scares me. That the FO mortgage the future for a 3 to 4 yr shot at the title then we're back to square one with everybody on this forum bytching and moaning.

I hope it does not happen. But by the looks of it, its brcoming realistic day by day. Sheesh. It depends his decision today when he meets with Cavs to discuss future though. If he opts in unexpectedly,LBJ to LA will have to tone down a bit.

I disagree, think James and PG13 along with what they have already, could make a run in the West. Lakers were team with most losses in 3rd and 4th quarter last season, they were ahead going into 3rd and 4th against GS 3 of 4 games last season. Think 2 stars make most of those losses wins. Not staying 1 of those stars has to be James, just saying think adding 1 or 2 would make a huge difference.

I am all for us signing Lebron and PG13 and I truly believe it is going to happen. There is no perfect situation that Lebron can join that guarantees he will win a ring next year. Houston may be the closes, but him going there will be hard, it will have to be a 4 team trade probably. Also Hou will be losing key pieces all to have a core of Lebron / CP3 / Harden.

Potential loses for Hou that could be involved if they trade for Lebron.

Ryan Anderson: (I know he did nothing for Rockets, but he will cost HOU the most to move and be the hardest)

Eric Gordon: Best 6th man this year.

PJ Tucker: very solid player in their system

Trevor: FA this summer (He will probably not resign, since Hou will have 3 guys making 20+ million already)

Capela: All signs show they will keep him, but if they can;t move Anderson they need his salary to make a trade work

So this Hou team would lose a lot to bring in Lebron. Only way Hou gets Lebron is trade, and they must send out equal salary to get him.

Rockets other players outside is of CP3 and Harden is half the reason they did as good as they did.

I 100% think we can compete against GSW with:

Lonzo / PG13 / Ingram / Lebron / Randle

Caruso / Hart / Kuzma / FA / FA

Others may not agree with me and that's fine we can disagree. Also this does not mortgage our future at all. Lebron is the only player past his prime. Also most likely the deal we give Lebron would be a 3-4 years. I think Lebron will play at a high level for the next 3-4 years. Sure he may get injured, but any player may get injured.

Well as long as kobe keeps exhibiting his narscissictic tendencies on social media (even after he’s retired), he’s going to keep pushing them away. It was really foolish to think that he was driving away free agents during his playing days...cause he’s coming across as a deterrent post retirement as well. Lol.

Well Magic, now that is farfetched, lol. Yeah pretty sure GS is keeping him. But Lebron may well team up with another superstar with the Lakers- we'll see.

Seeing this, I say this is overkill. Would switch out 1 of them for a 5. But that's just me!!!

Will let everyone decide which 1 they'd switch or wouldn't have for themselves.

Uh yes. I think most consider him the third best player in the world. Personally I'd take him #1. Before he sacrificed for Durant on the team, he was clearly the best player in the game.

I would say he is the best shooter in the league but he isn't 3rd best player in the league. Put D. Lillard on the warriors team and you wouldn't notice a difference imo.

I wouldn't say he was the best in the NBA before Durant, he had an amazing a season that year for sure, but I am not going to say any one is the best in the NBA after 1 season's work. Since then he has shot the worst 3 point %'s of his career which is really strange.

I just don't think he belongs in the same conservation as Harden, AD, Durant and Leonard.

Well I think you're dead wrong. Curry is what makes that team great. Switch him with ANY player in the league and they aren't as good. I didn't say 1 year. He had two years where he dominated the league like we hadn't seen since Kobe (I know that wasn't that long ago). Then Durant came over. I just think he sacrifices a lot now. Plus I'd put him ahead of the Guys you named. For now at least.

Kerr is what made that team great, Curry was no where near the player he is now before Kerr arrived.

I didn't say you said 1 year, I said he had 1 spectacular year and hasn't been close since. Maybe its Durant, maybe it was a flash in the pan or maybe he is sacrificing.

Superstars step up and win finals MVP, Curry still goes missing.

Well he had 2 spectacular years. And Curry did step up in the finals this year. He was the best player on the winning team 3 out of 4 games. And realistically, he probably deserved the MVP way more than Iggy.

Have to disagree, Curry is a great player , although I think his defense is way overrated. But has done a lot of sacrificing of his game to keep other stars on team involved and happy. Don't think they get to finals without him, but they've already done it without KD.

I'm not saying he isn't a great player. He is probably the greatest shooter the NBA has seen.

I just don't consider him a superstar, maybe unfairly. I guess it also comes down to what the definition of superstar is for any given person.

His assist to turnover ratio is very poor, yes this could be skewed by the fact the warriors always use the extra pass. He just doesn't dominate in all areas of the game enough IMO

All areas of the game? I mean LeBron james plays zero defense and he's clearly a superstar. Curry is by far the best PG in the league. He just dominated half the finals and played very good in another game. Don't know what else he'd have to do to be a superstar.

What is your definition of a superstar? How many of them are in the league? What's the difference between a superstar and all star?

We can debate till the end of time but unless we agree on criteria there is no point.

A franchise player. One of the top 10 players or so. I don't know how to define it. But we don't really need to agree on a specific definition cause he ain't borderline. Off the top of my head, I'd say at least Westbrook, Harden, LBJ, Curry, Durant, AD, Giannis are superstars. But again, we don't need to argue the specifics of a definition because I'd take Curry number 1. His two MVP years were like the 4 best years I've seen 1st hand by a player. Behind MJ, Kobe & Shaq.
