With David Fizdale being hired by the Knicks, there are several scenarios going through my head. Is it possible that Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James are heading to the Knicks?

Hear me out! Kawhi uncle who he is very close with lives in New York and he is currently there rehabbing his injury. Popovich made it clear he doesn’t want to trade him within the conference. Perhaps they will entertain a trade of Kawhi for Enes Kanter (expiring deal), Ntilkina (spurs are always good with international players), their 2018 lottery pick and future 1st rounder.

Then LeBron would be able to come to a big market and stay in the eastern conference, and play for his old assistant Fizdale who he loves and supports. This is a big conspiracy, not sure it would work. I don’t know what cap space is needed, maybe they stretch Noah’s contract, or trade Kanter for a trade exception and include Hardaway instead in the trade for Kawhi, if needed.

Not only has Pop NOT made it clear that he would only trade Kawhi to the East, but I've heard multiple people covering basketball and the Spurs say that that isn't true at all.

Unless another superstar is going to the Knicks with him, not happening. I know he has love for Fizdale but not that much love...IMO.

Yeah, I could see him goings to Heat, Sixers, Lakers, Rockets in no particular order before Knicks. Or could always stay in Cleveland.

Well, if they somehow traded for Kawhi and kept Porzingis, I could see him consider it. Still think he might think about that ownership. But I doubt any of that happens lol.

If the last 8 years have taught us anything, it's that James is not going to a team without TWO other superstars! James knows he can't win without that. He usually still loses, but as he ages, he's not going to settle for less now... unless winning isn't really his priority.

Sources are usually wrong. And Pop has always in the past made it clear he won't trade within the conference. He's not allowed to say it out loud now, due to league rules and getting fined etc. He can't make it look like he's made up his mind already, or that he refuses to deal with an entire conference. Just like he 'doesn't rest players before the playoffs' Wink Uh-huh. So it's a fair bet to say he'll stick with that protocol. Imo.

Yes that's the wild card. He can make big money in LA, his businesses are here, his wife and kids are here, he owns 2 homes here. There's plenty of ammunition to justify his coming. Whether that means he will or not is anyone's guess. But it certainly makes sense. Maybe he'll do a reality show here. Imagine the ratings for that? Esp if he interacts with the K-dash's or whoever lol. SO maybe winning isn't as important. I mean he'd win here, we'd win a lot more games if he came. But whether championships are his top priority is hard to say. One of the rings he got was by sheer luck (against GS). So in reality imo he has 2, that were won legitimately. Without help from the league/refs etc. Point being that makes it far less likely he'll ever get to 5-6. So maybe it's no longer a goal. Pple talk about him as the g.o.a.t as it is. So why bother? And maybe he thinks with him and another star here, with improving young players they can win. If he is able to will the Cavs this far basically on his own (ok having K Love back helps, but still), then he may think what he can do here with a better supporting cast. Esp with another move or 2.

Remember those games when he went to talk to Ball, and pulled his jersey up so no one could read his lips? Now is as good a time as any to wonder what they really talked about. Maybe it was like, "kid I believe in you, keep your game up and I just might come play wit choo in the near future". lol

i believe they eventually played audio from that and it was nothing important at all.

Was that a true rumor that Fizdale don't like foreign born players? I thought that was quite funny.
