Some East Coast team games left, but we need to win the West team games esp to climb to the 8 spot. Meaning beating Denver, Utah, Grizz, Blazers, Pels and Mavs. Since our winning those games and the other team losing, puts us a game up in the standings. Any thoughts on which games we can/should win, and if it can be enough to get us into the 8 spot? Spurs are tumbling right now, they could fall out of the playoffs, in which case that's one less to worry about potentially. Need to win other games as well, but the western games are most important. Esp against the teams right above us, which are Clips/Utah/Denver Can we do it guys? Predictions?

Mine are:

Portland L

Orlando W

Denver L

Cavs W

Denver L

Warriors L

Heat W

Pacers W

Pelicans L

Grizz W

Pistons W

Mavs W

Bucks L

Kings W

Jazz L

Spurs W

Wolves L

Jazz W

Rockets L

Clips W

So out of the remaining 20 games I see us getting 11 wins. Is it enough?

No way, I feel like we need to be at least 41-41. Currently there 10 teams in the east over .500 I doubt the 8th seed drops below .500.

We need 13-7 to end .500. Even then I don't think .500 will get us in.

I was really thinking Pelicans would drop out after Cousins and also though deneber would drop more with no Milsap, but he's working his way back into line up now, I think.

Playoffs or not, I think FAs can now start seeing themselves as maybe playing here given what we have done this year so far. It's really hard for anyone to deny our youth at this point.

I'd love for us to make the playoffs. I think we could actually pull off what the 1994 Denver Nuggets did in the 1st round against Gary Payton's Seattle Super Sonics. But besides that, I'm glad to see we have a leader in Lonzo, a bonified go to guy in BI, a potential sharp shooter in Kuz, a solid guy in JHart and so on. Like the direction of this team period.

Sad to say that I think a couple of those blown 4th quarter lead early in the season are going to come back and bite us. If we end up at or near 500, that is a huge step for this young team.

No !!!!!!

Don't think Denver, Utah or even Clips will lose enough games with only 20 left, for Lakers to catch up. Lakers would have to wins 7 more games than team in 8th spot, not enough time. Impossible No!! Unlikely Yes !!!

It's looking like 42 wins is going to be required to get the 8th seed, at minimum. The Nuggets need 7 wins to get there, the clippers 8, and the jazz 9. The Lakers need 14.

I just don't see any of those teams playing less than 0.500 ball the rest of the way, which would mean the Lakers basically have to go undefeated the rest of the season.

The Lakers have an opportunity to hand Denver and Utah 2 losses each, and the Clippers one loss. Those games are all must wins. If we can win those games and maintain our win percentage since January 7th, we have a shot. The odds are definitely stacked against us but I believe. I think tonight is a good test to see where this team is really at.

Hey look we agree on something Smile.

Furthermore 15 of our next 20 games are against teams currently over .500. And our last 6 games are against teams that will be fighting for playoff berth or position. I will be stoke if we hit 40 wins.

Well I'm sticking with 11 more wins. Sounds like I'm actually the optimist of the bunch. Which is certainly not typical lol.

I actually thought they could get that 13-7 before BI got hurt. I'm just taking safe pick of 10-10, but still think they could do better. Lol

IF we win tonite w/o BI against a hot team, we will go 15-5 and squeak into the playoffs. But only if we win tonite.

That still won't be good enough. What if those 5 losses are against Denver, Utah and Clips. Lol

So much for winning w/o BI and while The Big Doofus shoots six threes and makes one. Uggh.

The sooner I don't see Lopez or Ennis the happier I will be -- win, lose or draw!

Not sure why Ennis gets on the floor at all. And Lopez should be benched when he shoots and misses 3's. Phil would have sat him down immediately just for trying. Him taking that shot means someone else more capable of hitting it isn't. He's stealing potential points from a teammate. And costing us games. It also disrupts the flow of the O and ball movement. His assignment should be parking under the hoop and guarding like hell. He's a big body and even if inefficient, can disrupt by just standing there with his arms up. That's all he needs to do. Shouldn't be anywhere near the perimeter. That and pulling down boards and looking for put backs. But that's on the coaches imo. They let him wander and we see what happens 85% of the time.

You also forget that after The Big Doofus misses his threes, there is no seven footer to rebound his miss or put it back. A missed three by a center costs us about 4-5 points per miss -- the three that Zo, Kuz or BI would make or the rebound not gotten by Lopey shooting and missing threes or just standing out at the three point line. His play is a DISGRACE and no coach should allow that. Period.

Our coaches are 'too nice guys'. They need to rip into a cple players to let everyone know they're not fooling around. We all know what kids look like when they're parents are 'too nice' to them. Nightmare.

There needs to be an alpha. One that has teeth. I always wanted Adleman as our coach. Too bad he retired.

Agree, but you forget !! Lopez hasn't exactly been known for his rebounding through out his career. When he's under basket , he often gets out rebounded.

I'm fine with missing the playoffs. I just want that pick we owe Boston to fall into the 20's so that the value of it truly lessens.

Not going to happen, we'd be a 5th seed or better and in playoffs. Besides it only goes to Boston if it's 2-5 , goes to Philly at 1, 6-30.

Every team 15-30 is a playoff team. 1-14 are all lottery teams.

They'd have to make playoffs , just to be 15th pick, which right now Bucks have and are 8th seed in East.

So I'm saying for lakers pick can only be as low as 14th without making playoffs.

And Boston only gets their pick if it's pick 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th pick in draft. So right now in order for Boston to get pick it would have to move up on lottery night. Anything else goes to Philly.

So that's why I said pick can't go as low as 20's, they'd be a 4th seed or higher in playoffs at 23rd pick.

The pick will probably not play the 1st year or 2 anyway. That's how Philly rolls...lol.

Unless they package both 1st rd picks they have to move up into top 7. Or trade both for proven player. Lol

I should have known that but I guess I’m having an off day, lol. Thanks, so with that being said. Let’s go playoffs! I want that pick to go a s low as possible.

thanks to the Nash trade, yes. This is the pick that lingered. It could have been worse, we could still owe Orlando a number one for the Howard trade but that turned into two second round picks since we’ve sucked for so long.

Yeah, so far we haven't given up anything! Coulda been a lot worse. But unfortunately it only wasn't because, like oh said, we've sucked for so long lol.
