Seems like every year at some point we have the league's toughest schedule. Last year it was earlier, but it always comes. More anti Laker leanings by the NBA. I know, it makes no sense, but it's there. Under the blankets there is something going on, or that went on at one time, that pissed the wrong pple off, that we're paying for now.

Having to play Golden State 4 times skews the data a little. When the clips were decent that also made the schedule tougher.

Having to play in a brutal Western conference automatically gives a tougher schedule.

Until the NBA alters the amount of games played, it's never going to be a fair system.

So how much of a difference is he really going to make if he becomes a Laker next season. Not that I expect him to come here anyways. $36 million for a player past his prime, and I thought the Kobe contract was bad lol.

On another note, wtf is the coach up to playing these guys 40+ mins? I thought that was Thibs’s forte. Lol. These are human beings, not machines. Then he has no mins for Randle, Bryant, Zubac. Kuz was absolutely fatigued and had no legs under him. BI just returned from an injury and was forced to play 44 mins. Might as well played him for full 48...Mind boggling.

Re. Randle: Name me one NBA star or superstar who was a high draft pick and was mediocre in season four. My instinct is to say, that after year four, "You is what you is." (And don't offer Steph Curry cos he was averaging 23 points a game on close to 50% on threes in year four.)

This Walton is a horrible coach. But if he injures his players by playing them too many minutes IN A LOSING GAME he is a moron.

(Had to fix some original words cos of spell czech!)

Problem is people thought he was going to be a star in the 1st place. Going back to that draft, a lot of scouts had him as a good rotation player, 4th or 5th option.

That's the problem, people around here think every pick is going to be great. I've seen people say it about A.Brown, Clarkson, Randle and many more. The average career length is 5 years in the NBA. The majority of players simply don't stick.

Dlo was knock-kneed too. And I'm not saying he'll have trouble rest of career, just going by what's happened since college. With his contract coming up soon, would you feel good about giving him max money he can receive ???

Either way it doesn't matter he's not Lakers problem anymore. Lol

Starting to see a lot more teams letting players go after rookie contract, that were taken high in draft.

You’re right, it doesn’t mean he will be injury ridden his whole career also he isn’t a Laker anymore but why do you and most people assume that just because a kid is coming up for an extension means that it’s a max extension?

We have assumed that with Randle as well, and that the only acceptable offer is the max. Have you heard that Randle and his camp want a max extension?

I think he may be. And had attitude problems that were known even before he was drafted. He wasn't a leader as Magic said. And who can argue that Ball isn't an upgrade?

Had they moved him to the 2 and got rid of Clarky that might have been clever, since Clarky sucks at the 1 and Russ could have played both spots. But they had to get rid of at least one of those crazy contracts, and somehing had to be given up to do that. I doubt we'll live to regret that decision. Without it we couldn't even pursue one max player this coming offseason. It's a shmae we can't get rid of both bad contracts.

The damage B1itch and Dumbo did to this team is almost irreparable and will take years to recover from. They should be put in jail imo for destroying this franchise. Over 5+ years they ran it into the ground. And then walked away with big checks to ride off into the sunset. Other teams and some of us new they were poison. But somehow somehow many here still defended them, and Jeannie let them continue their rampage through the team. She should have woken up much sooner. And that is on her, as her part is our current state of affairs.

Time will tell if he will be an injury ridden guy but I just don’t buy it.

As far as getting rid of crazy contracts to play in free agency, I don’t necessarily like the move because Russell was traded prior to developing for the chance to play in free agency. The Lakers are trying to do the same to Randle in hopes that someone bites on the Deng contract.

Signing a guy is not a foregone conclusion and trading guys with upside in the hopes of signing stars to a team who is a losing team is beyond risky imo, I think it’s borderline dumb. We will be a team with plenty of cap space and a smaller pool of assets. Who looks forward to a 2018-2019 roster (strike out in free agency) of

Ball

Hart

Ingram

Kuzma

Zubac/Bryant

They’re esentially gutting the roster to free space and I have a feeling they won’t be able to sign anyone again. Then they’ll try to offer one year contracts again to preserve their cap space for the next free agency period

Not assuming anything, going by numbers he was putting up before injury and what other rookies have bitten that are comparable to him when it comes to contract.
