I’m happy to hear they found a role for him within the organization. I always liked him. He’s got heart but I know that doesn’t translate to coaching skills. I’m sure the young guys could learn a thing or two about defense from him. Hopefully he can prove to be an asset and find his way to the Lakers bench down the line as a member of the coaching staff.

Nice- good for Metta. Though it'd be even better IMO if he could stay with the big league team & teach them some pointers on playing better D.

I’d take it a step further and say that he would probably play better defense at this age, than anyone else on this current roster. Lol

Ok maybe KCP might have something to say about that.

We need him on the sideline with Luke as an assistant coach so can come off the bench and protect Zo as needed....lol.

This team is unbelievable. They are like incestual. They just can't see past former player for any position involving the team. NO imagination. NO chutspa. Just a narrow field of vision. I'm not against the hire. I just find it annoying and amusing that they really don't trust or somehow can't relate to anyone who wasn't a Laker. Really odd. In spite of the fact that historically that has NOT worked out very well. What former Laker hire has been a great boon to the franchise? I can't think of any. We all hope Luke works out, but the jury is out there. Let's say he does, other than him, who? Shaw? Nope. Kurt? Nope. Magic (as a coach) nope. Byron? Nope. Madsen? Nope. I really can't think of a single one. It always worked out better when they hired outside the organization.

Ok there was 1, Rlley. But that's it.

Haha yeah or like Pete says keep him as an enforcer, lol. Luke needs to focus more on defense for the team, despite what Magic is trying to preach in terms of run of gun sort of offense.

Problem is, even if we're bad without tanking, our pick goes to either Philly (again, wtf?) or Boston (again, wtf?). Clearly indicative of just how bad the FO has been the past several years. And how good Boston's and Philly's have been, among others.
