Vegas has it a little closer to how I feel. ESPN is underselling how the additions are going to impact the offense. They are expecting middle of the pack, but I'm predicting top ten, with three players averaging 18 or more points per game. I'm looking forward to seeing Nance, Deng and Kuzma playing together as a unit along with Clarkson and Ennis. If the starters can be competitive, and they should have the talent to be near average, the bench should be able to build some leads and steal some regular season games. I do agree that there won't be a big improvement on defense. The Clippers, Jazz, Mavs and Blazers are all going to take a step back. I'm predicting 38 wins if the roster stays intact.

Give me 41 games and I will be really stoked. Just want them to somehow finish playing .500 ball this season. It's a high ask but not impossible.

so I guess the "experts" are saying anywhere from 32 - 36

Hopeful would be 41 (.500)

but I'm gunna split that difference and say 37, no wait 38... errrr.. .yeah! 38 baby!

not in the playoffs (sorry Lavar) but the sports talkers will be saying how it's a big improvement just to be talked about as just outside the playoffs... in that 10ish spot. And how, if in the east would be in the playoffs.

I predict that the Lakers are gonna be top eight this season. Let's give them seventh place, which means about 45 wins... It's the Clips that are gonna plummet and make room for the true and only LA NBA franchise.

Heyyyy finally back! Was wondering what happened to topbuzz. I have returned!

Anyways, I feel with the additions we've made and if we're healthy we win 35-40 games.

I just don't think the offense has enough 3 point threat to spread the floor. I see that 33 win total being about right, the FO are going to trade people away for cap space.

The Lakes should hire Levar as an assistant coach

No they should hire him as the team's bodyguard/ bouncer. They should empower him to club those foolish refs for bad calls. He could distract the opposing teams as well during crunch situations.

Lets remember what Portland did last year. With the team below. They had 41 wins!

8 Al-Farouq Aminu

5 Pat Connaughton

23 Allen Crabbe

17 Ed Davis PF

4 Maurice Harkless

10 Jake Layman SF

11 Meyers Leonard

0 Damian Lillard PG

3 C.J. McCollum SG

6 Shabazz Napier

27 Jusuf Nurkic

24 Mason Plumlee

55 Tim Quarterman

1 Evan Turner

21 Noah Vonleh

Now I know we don't have anyone close to Lillard on our team right now. Also there 41 wins was mostly done without Nurkic as well. Outside of Lillard and McCollum I don't even think they have another player that would guarantee make a starting line up. Blazers just played their hearts out every night and fight for that playoff spot. If this team could win 41 games, I don't see why our guys couldn't. If we just actually believe we could, Blazers believed they could, because they showed it the year before. Also the Blazers defense was pretty bad last year as well. but they still pulled out wins.

The Lakers have a better team than this now except for experience, McCollum and Lillard's mastery.

Here's some props for Jordan Clarkson. His contributions are often overlooked.

I was surprised to see that nobody averaged 30 minutes per game last season.

BTW, for 48 min, D-Russ was better than 26/7 on a crappy team.

I feel that this Laker squad will shock the league this coming season with the new players added. I give them at least 45 wins. I remember the Lakers were 33 - 49 in the 1993-1994 season but then improved to 48 - 34 in the 1994 - 1995 season by adding a 1st year head coach (Del Harris), a rookie (Eddie Jones), and free agent (Cedric Ceballos). Anything is possible.

I second that prediction, barring injuries to any of the starters or impact players like Nance or Kuzma. Lonzo has made his teams significantly better at every level he played - Chino Hills HS, UCLA and NBA SL and Lakers have 3 starters in the contract year, when players usually go into beast mode to earn next contract: Lopez, KCP, Randle. ESPN has been spot on with their predictions in recent years - they've underestimated the Lakers this time.

I would say the 33 wins that ESPN is predicting will be the minimum number of wins Lakers will have this season. With the present player roster and a revamped front office management, Lakers will definitely be a playoff contender this season.

The western conference is a torture chamber, even the bad teams are pretty good. Unfortunately the Lakers have to play in it. Consider all of these teams they will have to play 4 times.

The Great:

Golden State - Champs

Houston - Harden, Chris Paul, good role players

San Antonio - Kawhi Leonard, Popovich

Oklahoma City - Westbrook, Paul George

Minnesota - KAT, Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins

The Good:

Memphis - Mike Conley, Marc Gasol

Portland - Lillard, McCollum, Nurkic

Denver - Paul Milsap, Jokic, good role players

New Orleans - Cousins, Anthony Davis

Considering they'll be in the 10th slot or worse, 35 wins would be generous. Probably will finish closer to 30 wins.

I initially said 45 wins so I'm close to Lavar's prediction which I don't think is a crazy statement at all. We never know what can happen between now and Feb. Magic said that Clarkson & Randle must get better. If they don't show improvement we can safely assume they will be in trade talks before the deadline. If Pelinka can put together a package of some or all of these players: Randle, Clarkson, & Deng, or maybe even Zubac in a 3 or 4 team trade to acquire an all star like Anthony Davis, then i will really believe the 50 win prediction will become true.

Lol, think Magic wants Randl and Clarkson to improve to raise their trade value, don't think one or both are on team after next season, regardless of how good they play.

As far as AD, think there's to many teams out there with better trade packages ahead of Lakers. Imo

I PREDICT:

48 Wins. Mid-year trade like the Pau trade with Randle going along with Deng and JC for an All-Star, maybe Cousins. Kuzma Rookie of the Year. Lonzo in Top Five assists leaders. LaVar will not shut his mouth; he predicts a title.

Haha actually Lavar would be like Lakers first team in history to go 82-0, 2018 Champs, Lonzo MVP, ROY, NBA first team, put him in the HOF already!
