I feel as though summer league is more for 1st year players so they can get accustomed to NBA basketball. Summer league doesn't really do much for BI. He's basically a veteran compared to the rookies, he went through an entire 82 game season, he doesn't really gain anything from summer league. If you're the Lakers, you don't really want BI to go into all these summer league games to dominate the ball and the game, you want the new kids to run the show to see what they can do. The team can develop chemistry in training camp, because the summer league team only has a few players that will actually make the team.

It's going to be fun to watch. I hope Ball can live up to the hype! All I need is to scout one game and see how he plays. How he moves around with the ball, his decision making, his passing, his shot (has an awkward form but he makes them.) I believe he's a better athlete then "ice in the veins" as well. He drives better and has better handles too. By observing his highlights. I think he's going to be a good prospect.

I just saw the UCLA vs (Fox) Kentucky December 2016 game. Lonzo Ball played well and helped UCLA won! Wow! Ball should have been # 1 in the NBA draft 2017! He has that awkward shooting form but he's good! Oh I can't wait to watch Summer League in his first NBA game! I think he's the right person!

Yeah, love how he got killed for having one bad game against Fox in tournament, but had overall better season.

If it weren't for that one bad game, we might not have Ball.

They killed him because Fox dropped 39. Other than that, they split 1-1. I mean a win is a win but you know how they are. They just don't like his Pops.

And If you watch that game only 14 points were scored while Ball was guarding him. So they are making a way bigger deal of the 39 points

Exactly, plus UCLA was terrible defensively as a team, they won by out scoring teams.

Don't know if you going by this pic, but this was from last year's summer league.

No caca...? Maybe it's one of those 'fit the frame' images that stretched him a bit wider than he really is. His shoulders, face, arm and leg thickness are wider than usual.

His defense is first team, his penetration explosive (that's what she said hehe) and with Josh Hart plus Magic's removal of all things 2016 not named Randle, I think Clarkson will get traded soon leaving three players to contend for the 2 which remains the problem position. Clarkson, Nwaba and Hart and perhaps Ingram. I think those three guys can hold things down quite well, but where does Ingram fit if they bring in Paul George next season? They must groom him now in the RIGHT POSITION. Curiously, the Lakers are talking to Waiters right now too which makes no sense given the glut. They are also talking to Jamal Crawford and Rajon Rondo when they already have Clarkson and Ennis as backups. The Lakers might end up with too much talent meaning too many first squad guys. How can Bryant make this team with Randle, Nance, Kuzma and hopefully Robinson at the 4 all the while asking the 4's to become better shooters to stretch the floor and play the 3 if needed as well. It seems Robinson must go for this reason plus he can't shoot beyond 5 feet despite his incredible offensive rebounding skills.

Bryant is a center. And as far as Ingram goes, I remember reading article that said he had his best games stat wise at 2 last year. Also coach K did say he thought he'd a be 2 in NBA.

He's 'only' 6'-10" and is generally listed as a PF/Center with PF as his primary position. Either way, do the Lakers need a 3rd center? Given Lopez's injury history, I suppose they have no choice. Can't see him making the team otherwise and Showtime is small ball unless you can find a running center like Cousins.

Why did we waive Tarik Black? Oh yeah, he was part of the Lakers core so he had to go.

Ingram at the 2 yeah.... so the fate of the other three is wearing thin.

Well Black was only 6'9" , but do think Bryant will spend a lot of time moving back and forth between G-league And NBA. But he does remind me of Black a lot, with an outside shot.

Also he played at 5 in college, and said himself he's a 5 in NBA, at least to start out with. And he also has that 7'6" wingspan.

Yeah I saw this, a Facebook project apparently. Is the interest in this family truly international? What's next, Lonzo's wedding at Staple's Center, at halftime?

From what little I have seen of him including his Lakers workout, he's a knock-down shooter.

Excited for summer league...

Of course I want to see Lonzo play great, and Ingram and Zubac show big improvement, but I am predicting that Kuzma has some real big moments.

I am hoping one of the 3pt shooting 2-guards stands out as a great shooter AND solid defender. (other than Josh Hart, because I already expect he will become a rotation guy very soon in the regular season)

I think we have 12 roster spots committed, not counting Ennis or T.Bryant... so a few of these summer league guys have a good shot at earning a spot on the preseason roster, to then fight for those last couple of spots.

Jason Tatum is destroying the competition so far. Fultz is doing what is expected which is shooting and scoring well.

I agree with this. He reminds me of Nicolas Batum a bit and maybe a better version of Trevor Ariza. He's a really good passer and few are mentioning this. He's really great on the break so while everyone is thinking Ball to Ingram, I'm thinking the highlight reels are gonna be Ball to Kuzma and Kuzma to Ball. Ingram is not a particularly strong passer.

Speaking of passing, that's one of Lopez's strengths. His interior passes are comparable to the Gasol brothers. I am not therefore expecting better defense next season but much better ball movement.
