So I was at Best Buy today buying a new HD for my comp. I sashay up to the counter in the comp dept just as another guy gets up next to me. First impression, very tall, looks like a ball player. Then I take a closer look. Now I can't say I could pick most famous pple out on the street. Really. But I caught the profile and thought damn that's K-Mart. Suddenly the wheels are turning. A friend of mine just sold his very large house nearby to a b-ball player, who's name was not revealed to him. So I quickly put 2 + 2 together and I think it must have been K-Mart. Why else would he be in my hood. So I say hey K man how u doin? He looks at me and says good man how bout you. I go good, so cool to see you here. I think you bought my friends house over on ***** St. He says yeah I did. I'm like wow how small a world is that? So I ask if he wants to play for the Lakers this year. He laughs and says sure if the phone rings I'm there. I say damn straight, we could use you on the team to get these young guys to play D and toughen up. Teach them to keep their elbows up etc. You and WP would be wicked playing together. Or at least coaching the young guys. He laughs again. I ask, you got something left in the tank? Still want to be in the game. He says I sure do. I say ok I'm gonna reach out to my homies over at LTB and see if I can scare up a phone call. He says he's gonna check out....

Well when I was about 10 yrs old many many moons ago, I had the pleasure of meeting George "Iceman" Gervin and Darrell Griffith at a basketball camp. Even got their autographs. Don't think LA will be picking K-Mart but he was fun to watch in person when I was in college and he was at Cincy. The guy was a man amongst boys in college. Treated my Alma Mater UAB like ish!!!!!!....lol.

Met Kobe at the Best Buy near South Coast Plaza. This was back in 2007, the summer he asked to be traded. The number of dirty looks people had for him was hilarious. He was nice enough to sign a notecard for me.

Cool. So clearly Best Buy is the place to go to meet ballers lol. Gotta be lots of posters here who've met players. Hoping for lots more cool close encounter stories.

The funniest encounter is one that doesn't even involve me. One of my chick friends met Draymond Green in the fan meet after the game in oracle and Draymond got her number and was tryna bang her. She didn't end up going through with it but my friend and I were saying she should've got pregnant by him and cash out hahahahaha.

I haven't talked to many but my favorite has to be Antonio McDyess. I was in 4th grade and went to a Clipper game with my best friend and mother. My father had a co-worker that had season tickets about 4 rows behind a hoop and would give them away. He had another co-worker who was really chill and had floor seats by the opposing bench. This co-worker would take me and my buddy into the tunnel to get autographs so we didn't have to be in the crowd. Now, the players signing autographs always thought they were done and then....
