It's currently 1:32 A.M. and (like many of you) i'm very excited and nervous about what could happen today. So many possibilities. Looking at our odds this year it's basically a coin flip that we keep our pick. Over the past few weeks i've been telling myself not to expect anything, i've tried getting used to the idea of losing the pick. I've avoided looking at the highlights, and i've tried to ignore all talk about this pick. But as we grow closer, i can't help but to keep my faith in the basketball gods. I can't help but to show my excitement and encourage all of you to do the same. We've had 3 miserable seasons of Laker basketball, 3 seasons off constant losing, 3 seasons of everybody writing us off. It's time this ends. With a new coach, a promising young core of players, and tons of cap space i believe our future is as bright as anyone's. We we're fortunate enough to get the #2 pick last year, why can't we get it again? Last year i made this thread hoping that it would bring some type of luck and hope for all us Laker fans. This year, i make this thread hoping to do the same. I'm not a very superstitious person, but if it helped last year, i'm hoping it helps again.

I don't know about you guys, but i'm gonna be rocking my Laker gear with pride today

here's to us keeping our pick today and hopefully adding a talented young man to our bright future.

Love to keep the pick, but not going to lose my mind if we don't. Just want to see current core continue to develop, and hopefully do good in FA. Pick would be a bonus. If we don't keep it, we have it next year free and clear, in what could be a deeper, better draft.

I agree. Given this year's weak draft and free agent class. Even if we keep the pick there aren't many guys in free agency who are going to make us a playoff team so we will probably be picking in the lottery again next year anyways. And like you said next year is a deeper draft in top talent. There are 6-8 guys with as much or more potential than Simmons and ingram.

If we do keep the pick I hope we stay a #2 so we can get ingram

Report: Lakers expected to try trading draft pick if it's No. 3 Leave a comment By Dan FeldmanMay 17, 2016, 10:15 AM EDT The Lakers lose their first-round draft pick if it falls outside the top three in tonight's lottery (44% chance of that happening). They reportedly want to trade the pick if it hits No. 1 (20% chance of it landing there). What about other possibilities? Chad Ford of ESPN: Multiple sources said at the combine this week that they expect the pick to be in play if it's No. 3 - with the Lakers looking for a young veteran in return. Good luck. This is a....

This draft was supposed to be deep. Skal and Thon were both projected much much higher last summer. I don't care for mock drafts until the college season is almost complete.

I don't believe so, a lot of draft experts were saying last June that this year's draft was weak. I remember Ford saying he couldn't believe the guys he was putting in the top 10.

As the teams are drawn they have to follow the order that they are in right now. If a team is not drawn in the spot listed below it means the Lakers have potentially dropped a spot.

The bulls should be first.

The suns will be next (via wizards)

Utah

Magic

Bucks

Rockets (via Denver)

Kings

Denver (via Knicks)

New Orleans

Minnesota

Celtics (via Nets)

Lakers

76ers

The more teams that fall where they are supposed to equals more chance the Lakers keep the pick.

Technically the draft is meaningless to the Lakers until that 5th pick is announced, this is the lowest possible position the Lakers can be drawn. But as I mentioned above, if a team is not drawn in the order listed, they have jumped up to a top #3 pick.

Make sure you cross your fingers, arms, legs and toes. Rub your lucky omen, wear your lucky clothing and have worshipped the ping pong gods because this could be one of the most important pieces the Lakers acquire this off season.

Everyone should wear exactly what we wore and do exactly what we did last year! Hell, maybe we should even send Byron back to sit as our rep again. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_16 Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_16 Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_16 Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_16

Yeah, I remember them saying at last draft, that except for a few players, this year's draft isn't looking that good as far as starting talent.

I'm hanging up my Byron Scott picture today. He couldn't win games but he could get high draft picks! I'm also doing everything I did last year at this time. I even watched Back to the Future last night in hopes to align the space time continuum.

Does he already know something?????

BallersHype‏ @BallersHype

According to Dikembe Mutombo the Sixers have won the NBA draft lottery.

Alex Kennedy‏ @AlexKennedyNBA

Dikembe Mutombo deleted his tweet that congratulated the Sixers

Alex Kennedy‏ @AlexKenenedyNBA

If the Sixers win tonight (and they have the best odds), the conspiracy theorists will be insufferable because of the Dikembe tweet

Looks like someone did know!!! Lol

Ok well if that's true the Lakers have about a 36% chance of keeping the pick. *GULP*

I just want to see how many people are going to say it was rigged, even though Sixers had best chance.

Think people forget lottery has already been done for people that were actually in room.

Apparently he just saw the odds and thought it was the lottery order.

If 76ers do actually get the 1 pick the feds should investigate LOL

I've got on a purple shirt, purple tie and purple socks. I've heard all of the comments and questions. "You look just like

Grimmace." " Hiw sweet of you to wear my favorite color when you knew your were going to see me." "I'm mourning Prince's passing in my own way" "Go Kings!" (I live in NoCal)

I hope it works and brings luck, but the truth of the matter is that if we pick this year or next, the most important thing is what veterans we are able to sign and surround the young core with this summer.

HAHAHA!!!! I was just about to post about the Dikembe tweet. My personal belief is since they stop broadcasting the actual lottery balls being drawn the whole thing is rigged. I know it sounds childish but that is what I believe. Dikembe just further proved that its true that the NBA lottery is rigged. Well him and the Cavs proved its rigged.

If the draft lotto is rigged shouldn't it be us who gets first? We just had the worst season in franchise history and Kobe retired...storybook NBA/Lakers if you ask me.

On sports radio here in Texas, they were talking about the lottery conspiracy theories and the guy said "I don't believe that it's fixed, I mean maybe it has been before like with Ewing, but I don't think it's a normal thing."

The other guy said, "what if the Lakers win tonight?"

His response, "oh well then it's definitely fixed!"

Bunch of haters all around the country guys.

Well what's up fellas? I'm finally making my return to LTB. After the season ended I just needed a couple weeks to clear my mind lol this is the night that we've been waiting for essentially all season. I've already told myself we're not going to keep it so if we do it's a bonus. Really hoping these balls fall our way.
