Andy Katz Verified account ‏@ESPNAndyKatz

Cal's Jaylen Brown said on ESPN2 he has been told he would go 1-10 in the draft.

Mark Medina Verified account ‏@MarkG_Medina

The Lakers are one of several teams to interview Jaylen Brown at the NBA draft combine in Chicago

One of the possible players at 3rd pick, I guess???

BREAKING!!!: J. Brown will go somewhere between 1-10! Lol thanks Katz.

I am glad the Lakers are doing their homework with him, he'd be my 3rd choice probably.

What if Ingram & Simmons don't go 1-2 based off a team picking 2nd's need? What if they are set at SF so with the 2nd pick a team like Minnesota or Milwaukee decide to take a flyer on Bender instead. Odds are low, but if we're third, there's still a small chance one of them could fall to us. With Porzingis' success some GM could reach for Bender. And just last year Okafor went from the consensus top pick, to the 2nd pick and then surprisingly got passed on at 2 on draft night and fell to third. Don't see any way Simmons falls passed 2, especially since a team set at SF could say they want to play him at PF, but if Simmons goes 1, I could see one of those two teams passing on Ingram. Possibly.

I think Minny would rather put another big next to KAT than to add another long scoring wing. They already have Wiggins. Just pondering.

Yeah, also saw where Murray impressed them in interview, but we don't need another guard.

Looks like the price for buying a 2nd round pick went up. Price of second-round picks rising CHICAGO The 2016 NBA draft is considered by many NBA executives to be fairly weak in terms of star-caliber talent. But few think it is a shallow class. With the draft combine in full swing, the sheer quantity of NBA-caliber talent has teams exploring ways to acquire more draft picks. The trend is particularly noticeable among teams picking in the second round, where as opposed to the first round and its rigid rookie salary scale there are no restrictions on the type of contracts teams can negotiate with players. Many teams now try to sign contracts up to three or four years in length for second-round picks, with only a portion of the deal being guaranteed up front. If they are fortunate enough to uncover an NBA-rotation caliber player in that range, they can enjoy having that player under contract for a rate far below market value for many years. The Miami Heat did that with 2015 second-rounder Josh Richardson, the No. 40 overall pick who agreed to a three-year, $2.5 million deal. Toronto gave Norman Powell three years and $2.5 million after selecting him at No. 46 in 2015. With the NBA salary cap rising this summer that is something more teams will try to do. Even if a team signs a player to a small guarantee in the $1.5 million range and it doesn't pan out, it's not the end of the world. A team can simply cut ties and try its luck again. Second-round picks could once be had for pennies on the dollar, but those days are long gone, multiple NBA executives in Chicago told The Vertical. Second-round picks are now at such a premium that it's likely we'll see some sold....

I'd be pissed if we got another guard with the third pick. Especially a scoring guard like Hield or Murray (which are the only 2 you'd consider there). We don't need that at all! If not Brown, I might even reach for Jacob Poeltl. He's supposed to be the best center in the nation this year and best defensive big, and he's a legit 7 footer. He averaged 17.2 & 9.1 and shot 65% from the floor. He's improving offensively and can finish with either hand. He'd be a "need pick" but when you only have 5 guys on the floor, that's ok IMO.

My 1st thought would be if that happened, one of our current guards is on his way out. But yeah, I'd be pissed too!!!

I wouldn't be pissed if he's the best available at the pick. In such a case like that, Clarkson would have to be moved IMO. I just can't wait to see what actually unfolds.

More possible 2nd rounders. Lakers Draft News: L.A. To Workout Isaiah Briscoe, Ben Bentil, Troy Williams By Corey Hansford - 05/13/2016 40 Facebook Twitter While it is still unknown whether or not the Los Angeles Lakers will keep their first-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, they are ensured to have their second-round pick at number 32 overall. The Lakers have holes just about everywhere on the roster, so they surely are checking out a number of different prospects. The Lakers have had some good luck in the second-round recently with Jordan Clarkson looking like a steal. Additionally, players such as Draymond Green, Hassan....

Briscoe is a very very good defender and can drive to the basket and draw contact and hit layups with bothe hands. He just doesn't have a jumper but I'm sure that can be developed.

Lol, sounds like players at combine weren't that impressive. But they did say this was a weak draft.

To be the third string SG? I'd go with Jaylen Brown. But they could go with best available and take Hield.

Have Luke say, "Yo, Jerry! Who is the best baller in this years draft?"

Don't think any teams that get 1st or 2nd picks are going to pass on Simmons or Ingram, there's to big a drop in talent after them. In Wolves case, Wiggins plays sg, T. Prince was their starting sf, so think they'd love to have either. But it would be interesting to see what Bucks would do if they got 1st or 2nd pick, but I think they'd still draft one of them, and possibly trade someone else or maybe even trade pick for proven player.

Who knows. I think they'd be smart to get a big next to Towns. And Wiggins is really a SF. Put Lavine in as SG.

Maybe they get one in FA or if they get one of the top 2, they put Simmons at 4. I know one thing, if they do get Simmons or Ingram, that team will be very scary with thibs teaching them defense.

I don't really see either of them fitting too well. Maybe Simmons a little better, but his skill will be underutilized by having the ball in Rubio's hands. Oh well, I don't really care what Minny does. Just an interesting thought.

Words to live by. Don't set yourself up for disappointment. You stay positive and I'll give you credit if we win the lottery lol. I really hope we don't lose it, but Mitch is smart to just plan like we do t have a pick. And if we get one then great!

since I really like our core, especially Randle and Russell, I'm starting to think maybe getting the second overall pick might be better for us. Why? I think Simmons goes number one overall. I think Ingram may be the better fit since he will undoubtedly be a SF. Simmons could be a 3 or 4 and we already have Randle and Nance Jr.
