I've been guilty of really getting into disagreements on this site due to differences in philosophy, differences in what we see on the court, etc...

To be up front and honest, the Lakers lack talent, they have no tradeable assets and they are about 7 million over the cap. This is where we are at, this is what all us fans have to go through no matter what side of the fence we are on in regards to this team. I'm personally finding it harder and harder to stay positive about the team I grew up loving, being a Lakers' fan is in my family, I had no choice and I'm fine with my parents being dictators when it came to the Lakers, lol.

I can deal with losing seasons but what I can't deal with is what I consider a lack of a plan. Just ask yourselves as fans " What plan has the management team put out there?" If you look at other teams you can at least see what sort of team they're trying to build, they'll let you know that we as an organization are going through a rebuild. Fans can accept that, fans aren't dumb, fans know its part of the process, fans know that a king can't stay on his throne forever. I'd like our management team to give us something, to let us know that things are being worked on and to give us a plan of attack to get things back rolling. Lakers fans aren't dumb, we may be spoiled but we aren't dumb.

As a Laker fan on this site, I'm going to do a better job of avoiding the consistently same debates, it's old, it's tiresome and really if I wanted to argue I'd just call my ex-wife.

Let's stick together, we know what we have, a bad team. Nothing will change that this season, I think deep down we know that. To be straightforward I'm a firm believer in having to be bad in order to acquire talent. If we luck up and get a top five pick, preferably top 3 then the season isn't a complete waste. All fans should cringe at the fact that we can possibly give Phoenix a top ten pick while we were completely screwed over in the Nash trade.

I'll try to come up with better topics in the future to illicit good discussion and I challenge others to do the same. This will be a long season and we are only 8 games in with 74 more to go.

People can always use my motto, and that is everybody is entitled to his/hers opinion. As Coach Herm Edwards would say, think before you hit send or in our case submit. There's nothing wrong with healthy debating but when it turns into something other than that, then move on and let it go.

You hit it on the head with a couple point gem...

The Lakers are simply not very good. That is just the cold hard truth.

The Lakers lack a plan. They should have went out and signed young players this summer...Go get Stephenson to go with Randle right now...Let Hill walk and use that money for the 23 year old competitor to grow with your recent #7 pick.

What do the Lakers do? They go get Boozer a washed up vet...who can still hit a jumper...but muddied the water for Randle.

The Lakers have no C...but Spencer Hawes was just sitting out there...I would have rather watched Lin, Stephenson, Kobe, Randle, Hawes...then Lin, Kobe, Wes, Boozer, Hill...and I think the players I suggest were there to be had..and isn't a pipe dream either...no Hawes is no world beater but he would be a better C then Hill is...and at least you could see some youth in the lineup and a plan for the future starting to take hold.

Is this a rebuild? Is this going young? What are the Lakers doing? Simply put we have no clue and this is the teams biggest problem and hurdle to overcome.

How's this for a good attitude, Gem, "I'm positive that the Lakers will do badly this year."

Enough negativity!

At this critical Juncture, lakers fans and faithfuls need to engage in some serious introspection and see what's best for the team, not individuals. Forget our whims/fancies and make a sincere endeavor to put the team before everything else. What this team needs is that top three pick in order to "stick it" to Phoenix and get some retribution (some Consolation) for the multiple crimes they committed over the nash disaster. United we tank....divided we stank! Lol

You guys do know that even if we get a top five pick the year, we will still owe PHX a first round pick the next year, right ?? Not to mention we still owe Orlando a first rounder for Dwight. We better hope the Rockets slow down because that first rounder we got with Lin is looking worse by the day.

We all should meet at Staples and go to a game together! That would boost our spirits! Unless the Lakers loss.

OC: man, she can argue and I hate it, lol Userpete: I believe in that also. I try not to be disrespectful when I debate with someone and I fully know we will have differing opinions on here. I've learned from posters due to their differing opinions. Rusty Ray: that's probably been the whole thing that has bothered me about our management team. Just build team. It doesn't always have to be some superstar in purple and gold. Just to see them hold out and preserve their precious cap space for a big name is just crazy IMO. They could have had two young guys in Isaiah Thomas and Lance Stephenson. Luckily we dodged the Melo bullet. He's 30 and the Lakers were going to pay him until he's 34. You can clearly see right now that Melo is slowing down, his high scoring games are becoming more and more further apart and that was last year as well. Melo doesn't have playmaking to fall back on either like James or anyone else who starts to get older. We would have been screwed for the next four years. New York went five. I'm tired of management' scrap, they'll stay mum on everything for the most part as if the team they've put out there can compete, as if they're peeing on us and saying its rain. People may not agree with what Philly is doing but Philly wiped the slate clean, told their fans exactly what they're doing and you see what's going on and the fans understand and are patient and are behind their team. They got rid of everyone that would screw up their lottery chances. Now they have Nerlen Noels, they'll....

I've got one of those too.. Her basketball philosophy was simple. I will spend all of the money while you are watching the Lakers. I traded her to the Siberian Huskies.

This year just like last is a huge step into our future success. Yes we're bad, but all teams go through these periods. With the new CBA we can't just re-load on players anymore. Bulding through the draft is our only choice now. Here's to hoping we land a top pick! Cheers all my fellow Laker fans, it will get better over time.

I wouldn't complain at all had they just made some smart moves. I was never on board with Melo...this team would still be 1-7 with him here running shotgun to Bryant. He isn't a game changer like people believe he is. He can score but he is slowing down and he doesn't defend at all which is this teams biggest issue right now anyway.

If the Lakers take Hill's money and go get Hawes and Thomas great, then find a way to get Lance S in here as well....then before the Randle injury I have something I can buy into for the future...Nash comes off the books and you can go get another piece to fit in with your growing young core...then when Bryant is done you have a huge chunk to add more to the puzzle...

The Lakers had the money to add young quality talent this summer...but the decisions to go after big names after giving Kobe huge money killed them...I can't believe the bargin that Stephenson was...He is only 23...Who wouldn't want him growing up with Randle? Instead we keep and overpay Hill...leave Nash on the books which honestly is likely the only correct decision they made.

Stop trying to hit homeruns on name players....30 year old Melo would have been another Nash like mistake...thank goodness he chose NY.

it isn't anything big, but getting Lin and the Rockets pick for like nothing was a good move, right? and the Davis pickup was also nice, right? (We got him for 2 years, gotta sign him for longer as he is a great bench player.)

ps, I didn't really want Melo anyway, but who knows what woulda happened. And yes though I agree there are other players we were all wanting them to get that they didn't.
