It's all but certain that Kevin Love will be traded to the Cavaliers just as soon as the rookie contract signed by Andrew Wiggins allows the deal to go through, but some recently reported details could possibly place the entire thing in jeopardy if it can be proven that an illegal agreement (in terms of the league's collective bargaining agreement) is already in place. Both teams have been careful not to say too much, lest the league come down on them with severe consequences for working outside of the rules. But if Love has in fact implicitly agreed to re-sign in....

They won't block it. It's hard to find evidence of a verbal agreement.

Not only that but the league likes Dan Gilbert for some reason and when Lebron cries everybody listens like a crying little baby.

I'm sure Love will make it to Cleveland, it sounds like they are being careful during this process. All this talk of the trade possibly getting blocked is just the media trying to keep things interesting while they wait for the trade to actually happen.

Also, I hate when people bring up Stern nixing the CP3 trade as if he had no right to do it. At the time the New Orleans Hornets were league owned and David Stern was always their acting President. The Hornets General Manager pursued the trade with the Lakers, David Stern looked at the trade and didn't like what the Hornets were getting in return, and stopped it, simple as that.

It would be like Mitch Kupchak wanting to trade Steve Nash to Toronto for 5 bags of peanuts, but then Jim Buss nixes the trade because he believes Philadelphia would give us at least a dozen bags of peanuts for him.

While he technically had the right to do it, it was still total BS. it is a conflict of interest for the commissioner of the NBA and/or other NBA team owners to have any say over the personnel moves of another team, as long as they are legit moves. Regardless of whether the team is temporarily owned by the NBA or not. Either some other 3rd party should have been given temporary, 100% control of making those decisions for a team, or the team should just not be allowed to make such moves until an owner is found.

I agree with all that you said. They should have found someone else other than Stern to have full control over the Hornets. It just bugs me when someone says, "How come Stern didn't nix Lebron James and Chris Bosh going to Miami? Oh because Lebron is Sterns baby and Stern hates the Lakers and Kobe." Or like the poll question to this thread, "Will the NBA nix the Love/Wiggins trade? No, Stern is gone, duh". That's the kind of stuff that annoys me.

It's funny that Laker fans think David Stern hates the Lakers and yet fans of other teams all around the league see it the complete opposite way. In reality there's little favoritism in the league, just a lot of fans getting way too emotional.
