I don't know why but I'm tearing up. I mean Kobe Bryant man. He is such a warrior. And it's tough to see a true warrior fall to his knees in tremendous pain. This guy gives us Laker fans every ounce of himself. And it's killing me to see our fallen hero with nothing else to give. I see his tears in his eyes. I feel the pain in his voice. The sadness he feels knowing that he can't compete. And that's a tough pill to swallow coming from the ultimate competitor. I'm going to miss him these last few games. And I will deeply miss him once he retires. After this injury It's hitting me how hard it's going to hit me once he retires for good. It's going to happen sooner or later. Lets hope that this isn't the last we see from our hero Kobe Bryant. (I feel the tears welling up in my eyes just thinking of it) God Bless you Kobe. Thanks for giving us 17 years of your life.

It sounds cruel but it's business. Seems Lakers would have to amnesty Kobe if has torn Achilles tendon Could sit out 13-14, re-sign in 14-15

Pretty incredible in hindsight that Kobe limped on to the court with a torn Achilles and made two free throws before leaving.

I am trying to cry but I can't even do that, I'm totally numb on the inside. I can't think, I can't feel, I can't do anything. Wow. I am just SO through.

I confess, I got teary eyed watching his post game interview...Watching Kobe staying and talking to the media, instead of going to the hospital, was a statement of what an ultimate professional person and athlete he is...You can see in his bloodshot and swollen eyes, he had been crying...He gave it all for us this season.

Repped High Quality Post

It's an intense and emotional night. I have an aura migraine coming on and can't see in front of my face. It's a struggle to type. Time for bed and a dark room.

Hang in there Lakers fans. After Kobe's comeback, this is only going to enhance his already incredible legend. This ain't even close to the end. Kobe wouldn't have it that way. You can tell he's already focusing on all he can do to help now and then later to get back.

Those freethrows made on a torn achilles will NOT be the final points of his career. Promise!

The Lakers season ends on Kobe injuring the part of the human body named after the one weak spot of a legendary nigh-invulnerable demi-god

I honestly couldn't care less about the season anymore.

I think we just might have witnessed one of the greatest players to ever play final NBA game...

Im still so sad. I cant believe it. He would never ever go down. Whenever he got injured, you just knew he would be playing through it. There was never a devastating injury. Until this one. His first really bad one. I can not see him ending his career like that. No way. The Mamba will be back for more! I hope for a speedy recovery and wish this man all the best in the world! He doesnt deserve to go out like this.

blame David Stern. If he never vetoed CP3 to the Lakers, Kobe would never have to carry all this load and would play his natural position

I'm having a hard time swallowing this too. The man brings me so much joy when I watch him play. If his career ends like this I'll be shattered. I wanna see more. If anyone comes back from this it's KOBE BEAN BRYANT.

Such a sad day. The only true warrior on the court last night, lets hope the other guys rally behind coach Vino and makes his recovery a little bit easier with some playoff wins.

I didn't watch the game and am wondering if its the same ankle that he injured against the Hawks? IF so I feel like that would have a huge impact on this injury occurring

Thanks for those encouraging words my friend. I woke up thus morning crying, there is a hole in my heart, I can't believe he can't walk this one off. But like he said, we will pray for the bear because we know he will do EVERYTHING in his power to defeat this. that is why we love the black.mamba. Stay strong laker nation, stay strong.

Kobe last night reminded me of shows I have seen where the old Lion King fights to keep his pride against attackers. I was wincing watching his heroic stand as his body litterally was coming apart in front of my eyes. You could almost see a big injury coming. My heart was going out to him as it happened. What a marvelous stand he made against age and all odds.

He was a lion. He gave it as good as he took it. It is fitting we won that game with all the extraordinary effort he gave being such a big part of that win.

Bloody but unbowed. Kobe was a spectacular beast tearing at his enemies in the worst of conditions. It will go with so many other marvelous Kobe memories.

David Beckham's recovery took 6 months after completely tearing his Achilles he was also 34.

But it's somewhat different. Football, or soccer as you call it, doesn't involve jumping a lot, so you don't have to put some much weight and don't have to strengthen your heel so much. But Kobe's also a better athlete than Beckham so maybe one compensates the other.

there aren't enough words to describe it. his passion for the game.

his will was so strong the last games, but he reached his body limits.

I hope everyting goes right with Kobe.

Nice comparison Randy between Kobe & a lion. People always dissed Kobe for wanting to be like Mike. Why? That just showed how high he set the bar. Kobe has No Fear. Do you think that all those other MJ wannabes aimed that high? Hell No! That's why they never got as close as Kobe has. If you can't imagine it you'll NEVER attain it. Matter of fact I'm sure that MJ admires Kobe. He even said that they were both cut from the same cloth and that they both are cursed with the same passion for the game. MJ is sad today too. Because to a degree he has lived through Kobe since he retired. He enjoyed watching what Kobe could do on the court. It reminded him of himself.

Just over 24 hours on and I'm still devastated for Kobe and for the Lakers. I've never seen a player play through so much pain and so many injury's as KB24 and in that I firmly believe he'll be back to carry on his legacy in the purple and gold.
