Metta was upset with Kobe. Hence he just took the matter in his own hand; which turned out worse than Kobe. LOL.

I understand that were all pissed because of the loss but lets not turn this into clippers topbuzz where we make a thread every time we lose lol. Instead lets make a "Countdown To MWP Getting Amnestied Thread". Of course MWP wasnt the only reason we lost but i am sick and tired of seeing this guy with his below average basketball IQ wearing a lakers jersey. How can a player be that stupid with his decisions on a consistent basis.

Repped High Quality Post
Ralppcobarde, I don't think anyone should waste energy on getting upset any longer. This team has shown all year what it is. It is highly flawed, with many problems. You can itemize it. You can blame Kobe, you can blame Pau, Howard, D'Antoni, Nash, age, defense, synergy, the bench, so many things. And their component failures and flaws have led to the team failure. The fact is this: this teams time of championship contention is over. Its just how it is. The teams problems that started three years ago were not addressed properly. Maybe they couldn't be. I don't know. But whether they could have been or not, they weren't. And now this team is finished as a title contender. Its just how sports is. Like life. Things are born, they hit their nascent, then the apex, then decline. And we are in the decline. We can get mad, blame this guy or that guy or the coach or whatever, but it won't change the fundamental fact that we won't be competing for a title again till this team is overhauled. And for those who still think this team can or will win the title, there is going to be plenty of cussing and blaming still to come for them, lol. But for fans more grounded in what is happening, they understand that now its time for the move on. I don't know how it will play out, how fast or slow, but its going to have to. And whether it takes two years, or three or whatever, we are going to have to go through it before we can compete again. I would start cussing say in five or six years, if by that time, the FO has not begun to assemble a very competative team, given the salary that will be leaving here....

Randy,

I know, its just been a frustrating season for me and i got to go with a man who have experience watching the lakers more and that is you. Im still learning as a laker fan and the truth is in the wall. Lakers season is pretty much a disaster at this point. Maybe ive been too optimistic to get my hopes for my lakers. But then again i dont know, ive learned a lot also since joining this site. Where i can vent my frustrations with several laker fans too like you do. Which also made an impact towards my daily life. Laker loss werent so frustrating this days unlike the 5 yrs ago which i let it affect my life. But now not so much, thank you to you and to this site .

Now moving on, i've calm down and ask the moderators to please move this thread back up to. Official vent your frustrations thread to where it belongs. Maybe the pau and kobe return maybe is too ecstatic from this team . Im an optimistic guy and let the judgement fall when the lakers ousted in the playoffs. Our 4 guys only played 5-10 games and this could be another adjustment period for this team let them jell and the pieces will start to fall in. But you know, you know me randy. You and i have talked the ariza- mwp swap, still not looking good from today.

It's another bad loss plain and simple. I wouldn't waste too much negative energy on this. Kobe played hero ball the last 3:00 of the game and it is what it is.

Once you hav sumbody down, you have to push harder and keep smashing em'., can't ease up and think, o they're down we got em'. It ain't over until its over. Obviously. Once we get that lead we relax, tha mentality has to be , when you get tha friggen lead play harder.....with tha verteranship on this team and having tha mamba it is really really surpriseing to me this message isn't being relayed to eachother in tha locker room ...in any situation, definately in our position hangin around in 8th spot barely. Lol. Mind boggeling.

Ralppcobarde, I can feel you, bro. I have been watching the Lakers since the mid 80's and it is frustrating...VERY frustrating and I have gotten mad at this team, the team in the early 90's when Magic retired, the infamous 2004 super team, when you are fan, it makes you mad to see your team NOT handle business. Which comes to what SPQR has been saying and some others have been mentioning. This team needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL. And not just players. There is a culture of losing that has started to infiltrate this team and it started directly after the Dallas series and has now gotten worse since then. I love the Lakers, but changes from the players, to the coach, to the assistants need to be made. And honestly I kind of figured the Lakers might have lost last night. And to hear D'Antoni make his comments was funny, because this is the first time he sounded like a coach, not a guy who just got a lot money to watch a team play basketball. Dub4twenty the vets should be pushing the team to keep your foot on the enemies throat and not let them breathe, because if you let up.... this happens! But it goes with the culture that has been lingering here for awhile. Players have to be accountable for pushing hard, but the coach has to get them to focus on winning the mental game as well and that is not working on both sides; players and coaches. So, all I can say is we will see what will happen in the end, because I have said this before, my fear of the Lakers making the eighth seed is that the team will feel it does not need to make changes and the team does. If they can't see....

If they can't see that this team went from championship aspirations to "yahhhhh the eighth seed." then truly something is wrong with this franchise and it will screw up the future. Fans need to remember free agents and future free agents are watching this franchise and if they are not seeing a competent franchise do you honestly think they will want to come here?Money is not always everything for everybody.

Oh and before I get hit up for not loving this team....I do love the Lakers, but when something is not right, you have to love it enough to know that changes have to be made. GO LAKERS!!!!!!

well, after that Dallas series we have 3 players left on that team namely,Pau,Kobe and MWP. but Kobe and Pau were together a lot. i dont know we are poorly handling taking care our business against opponents. maybe it falls into Kobe on that one. and i suppose you are right major overhaul is really needed. and you got a really good point. Chris Paul trade would have been perfect transition of eras while doing that major overhaul. keeping Pau longer was a mistake. now we have no choice and wait for next year and use him as big trade bait simply becaus ehe has a big expiring contract.

^^^^We should have been more prepared as a franchise to move on. When the team let Phil and his coaches walk, the team should have been making deals to shore up this team. If you are moving from the Triangle to a new offense then you adjust. The FO never did that and the culture remained and I know alot of fans keep saying the" Chris Paul deal would have put us over, but we got screwed." The FO had chances to shore up this team and never really did it the right way and I am curious to see what they will do this off-season.

I totally agree. Its sad that ron is the ONLY one on this team who has the guts to stand up to kobe. The coach doesn't, nash doesn't....nash just gives him the ball and camps out at the ft line. And poor dwight, he aint seeing the ball the last five minutes. I'm still disgusted!

Wizards have one of the best records against above-.500 teams since the All-Star Break. This loss wasn't so shocking to me. We've seen the Lakers give up big leads several times this season.

I would think starting Earl Clark over Metta makes sense...at least to me... I really appreciate the guys effort and toughness, but man he makes me crazy with his out of control offense....it always seems to happen at the worst possible times.

Metta kills the Lakers when he tries to force his O, he just isnt a good offensive player anymore.

Start Earl, bring Metta off the pine.

You can play the starters the whole 48 minutes assuming they are at full strength and never get tired, they still lose. THey are just too inconsistent, and uncoachable. You can put Phil Jackson in now, and I am willing to bet my money that they aren't any better off. What can you do with old rusty Steve Nash, low IQ Dwight Howard, physical but lack of brain MWP, inconsistent Kobe Bryant, weak and useless Pau Gasol?

Kobe Bryant is my 2nd best favorite player next to MJordan. I can afford for KB to shoot a lot during the game but the problem with him on a close game when he decides to take over the game in the last minutes, the Lakers can have an open man standing right at the bastket and Kobe will still try to make his fadeway shot 15 feet away from the basket. That's low IQ basketball. In this department, KB is far behind Lebron and D Wade.

i dont care, we lead by 20 at home and that is unacceptable. we are down 20 by phx,NO,bobcats and the rest of the bad teams all season long. not a type of team who has championship aspirations like the lakers. this team lacks killer instinct.
