Repped High Quality Post

As a child my favorite channel was KCAL9. I watched my first basketball game on KCAL and my last on KCAL.

I'll be interested to see how they incorporate the LTV guys like James Worthy and Jim Hill into the pre-game, post-game offerings at Time-Warner. I would assume they will, but I guess it's not a given. I'm also interested in the sideline reporters too but not to the same extent. But that's how John Ireland got started with the Lakers (I think). Now that I've lived outside the LA area for a few years, I miss KCAL and their home grown coverage more than ever.

Time Warner Cable purchased the rights to showing the Laker games, and they will be creating a special channel just for the Lakers.

This channel will be part of a sports tier package of extra chanels at an extra cost. (not much, only a few dollars more per month)

This is the only reason i kept my Time Warner Cable service, so i get the channel once it is released.

As for DIRECTV and others, well, they have to work something out with Time Warner

So is Time Warner getting all the Laker games? Road and Home?

Yup. All Lakers games will be shown on the newly created channel.

From what I have read, this channel will be available on DirecTV. Surely they will ream me for it. But it's the Lakers so I will pony up.

Of course, since I can only get DirecTV here, if they don't make a deal I am screwed.

Okay, so the Lakers must have wanted one more final FINAL game for KCAL-9 and its Laker fans viewers! The KCAL crew gets to pack up their bags and head on back to Denver again after all.

A closeout win in Denver would be a sweet ending indeed.
