A given.

Quote:
Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said the team looking to find a backup center to replace Theo Ratliff, who is expected to retire.

The Lakers will also try to shore up their backcourt as insurance against Shannon Brown deciding not to pick up his player option worth approximately $2.2 million to stay with the team next season.

"Shannon has an option to extend," Kupchak said. "We don't know what he's going to do. That's an area that we should look to operate a little bit, the backcourt."

I hope Shannon leaves! The dunks are real nice but this guy has to be one of the dumbest players out there. And on top of that he thinks he's Kobe Bryant 2.0

Joel Przybilla! I also remember Ebanks saying that he could play some SG next year as well, but that means that he will have to gain a jumpshot. I have no clue what quality SGs the Lakers could get with the vet min., maybe McGrady.

What about JR Smith for half the MLE? That's if he is willing to sign with us for that amount.

^Or maybe Samuel Dalembert, depending on the price. He would end up getting more minutes than we think, seeing as Pau clearly needs to be relieved of 4-5 minutes per game. Oh, and the DEFENSE he brings would be lovely.

I think that JR will ask for at least $8M-$10M a year, he might be looking to break the bank (well by his standards).

Dalembert is also a great idea, both him and Przybilla bring solid defense and rebounding and will come cheap. They can both put in 10-12 minutes a game easily.

I wish we could have gotten DeAndre Jordan he only made like 900,000 last year with the CLippers.

What about Dj Mbenga????

Samuel Dalembert is my ideal back up center and will also fit in great with the new defensive scheme.

If we get dalembert and jr smith somehow that would be really nice it solves the depth issue at the 4 and 5 (wich is a big reason why we lost this year) and the depth issue for the 2 and the defensive and three pointing issue if we got those 2 and dorrel wright i would be completely satisfied i say give blake a chance at point i have heard some good arguments for him and i say why not unless something better falls in our lap at point then snatch it

Dalembert will be great! Will he come for cheap because he made 12 millions this season? And besides, I think the Kings are thinking of re-signing him.

We better pray to the basketball gods that dwight demands to come to LA, because we dont have as attractive an offer as other teams. Teams like oklahoma city can package westbrook, harden, ibaka or perkins in any combination and all we have is bynum. Who is great but thats all we have. Lets hope dwight really wants to play here.

I forgot we can sign Nate on a minimum contract. He`s not a MLE guy right?

I'd take Dalembert for a back-up. He's decent on defense and rebounding. His main strength is mid-range jump shots which he can make consistently.

As far as shooting guards go, I think Ebanks should slide over to the SG position. The Lakers should develop him there. Ebanks is a bit too weak to play SF. The kid can shoot the ball, he just needs the opportunity to play more.
